This week, it's CG as usual, at Sharon's place at 8pm.

This week, it's still on Daniel, but I think we're listening to an audio CD. Oh well, you'll just have to come to find out :D

SPCG 2 members, please send me ONE (1) headshot of yourself for the new SPCG2 blog. I'll be bringing my camera tomorrow if you don't have any nice pics of your self, so if you want your picture taken tomorrow, dress up a you see fit la.
If you're sending me a pic, make sure it's at least 50x50 pixels. Or just send me a big pic and I'll crop it myself.

No exceptions, everyone must have their picture on the blog. By hook or by crook, I will get it *evil laugh* MOO-HAHAHAHA!

Yayayay got CG OUTING THIS WEEK! See the attached mail below for VERY VERY IMPORTANT INFO.

This Friday, we're doing a Bible Study on Daniel. (Duh...Daniel of the Bible, not Daniel Chong). So make sure to bring your Bibles. Also can bring any bible encyclopedias or concordances or anything of the sort that is helpful la.

Do be early k, don't loiter off somewhere. Not safe to be lepaking at night anymore. Snatch thieves and all. Later got incident like John Oomen like that then how we gonna tell your mommies?

CG OUTING!!!!!

Yes yes boys and girls,

Finally after such a long time we get to go and just have fun. I mean some of us dont have time or the people to go with. So your insane CG leaders is bringing up the very first CG Outing of the year. Where are we going? Time Square! The high tech forest of KL.

What are we gonna do there?

We are going to the Theme park. Why this theme park? Well cause Sunway is closed (only dry park open) due to construction of Pyramid 2 and also the dust in the area might make our Cg girl's skin tanner. Hmmm.... Also some suggested Genting, but your CG leader here dont want to be going up Genting 4 times a year! So we will stick to this. Haha.. Also many of you are scared of heights. So this is a good place to start. If you vomit, less ppl will notice and your supportive Cg members will laugh at you to cheer you up. Awww ... Hehe...

Then we will be going to IMAX cinema. They are showing a show called BUGS. Look kinda cool. So we might watch that. :)

How are we getting there?

By walking... haha course not. Van van van. I got a van just to ship and drop you guys there. So you safe petrol. And you can rest while your poor leader drives.

What time?

Be in church at 9.00am sharp, else you would really have to walk there. I am serious!!!! So to the Form X members... cough cough... haha yes u two!!! better be in church by that time. I am trying to help ya safe petrol. LOL. Ok why so early you might add? Cause the earlier we go the less ppl there is. The more we get to play. Get it? And also the earlier we get to go back and chill with family or frens. :) So its a win win situation.

How much issit?

Theme Park is Rm 25. If you look at the small picture sure waaaaaaa expensive wor. But take it as a time with Cg members, picture taking, seeing fellow members puke or pee. Think it of this way. One ride we pay Rm 5. We sit 5 times already Rm 25. But this one can sit as many times. So yea. Warning ... No chickening out. None of you will die. We will do it as a CG. So if one ride go all must GO!!! Hahahahhaha *evil laugh

Imax is Rm 15

Its a good experience. If you never been before its very cool. Think of it this way. In 2 years time this cinema will be old... smelly and dirty. Catch it while its at its prime... Hahha.... Are there any DIGI users? Can get discounts. Let me know before Sat else all of you pay normal price!

What time do we return home?

I am looking at the afternoon. Maybe after lunch around 3-4pm. If it runs according to plan

What should you wear?

Guys no shorts or slippers. Please wear your tuxedo and ties... Haha noooo la better not joke after we see Daniel in it. Just wear casual but not like a ah pek pls.No short pants or slippers cause I think Imax dont allow. Haha

And a VERY IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT:
College Groups are to go for the EVENING SERVICE on SATURDAY at 6PM. SATURDAY as in THIS COMING SATURDAY, the 5th of August. Attendance is compulsory la, but it's not like we're gonna put a gun to your head and force you to come...or will we? *evil grin* Haha no la...

And if you come for the evening service on Saturday, then YC Service on Sunday is optional lor, means if you go Saturday, you don't need to go Sunday, unless you have responsibilities/duties/obligations la, like let's say you're a leader or have to attend Bible class or have to attend Bible class or helping out with something... don't ponteng unless necessarily la.

Okies, the dead cow is alive again, and here are some suggestions i have to update the blog.

1) Update the roster, which means...
- removal of non-SPCG members
- split roster into SP1 and SP2 accordingly
- update the pics (you'll have to send them pics to me)

2) Remove the calendar thing, which i think has expired. Or...

3) Update the calendar thing. Which I don't think people click anyway...

4) Stream songs :D

A Letter From Jesus

As you well know, we are getting closer to my birthday. Every year there is a celebration in my honor and I think that this year the celebration will be repeated.

During this time there are many people shopping for gifts, there are many radio announcements, TV commercials, and in every part of the world everyone is talking that my birthday is getting closer and closer.

It is really very nice to know, that at least once a year, some people think of me.

As you know, the celebration of my birthday began many years ago.

At first people seemed to understand and be thankful of all that I did for them, but in these times, no one seems to know the reason for the celebration.

Family and friends get together and have a lot of fun, but they don't know the meaning of the celebration. I remember that last year there was a great feast in my honor. The dinner table was full of delicious foods, pastries, fruits, assorted nuts and chocolates. The decorations were exquisite and there were many, many beautifully wrapped gifts.

But, do you want to know something? I wasn't invited.

I was the guest of honor and they didn't remember to send me an invitation.

The party was for me, but when that great day came, I was left outside, they closed the door in my face .. and I wanted to be with them and share their table.

In truth, that didn't surprise me because in the last few years all close their doors to me. Since I wasn't invited, I decided to enter the party without making any noise. I went in and stood in a corner.

They were all drinking; there were some who were drunk and telling jokes and laughing at everything. They were having a grand time.

To top it all, this big fat man all dressed in red wearing a long white beard entered the room yelling Ho-Ho-Ho! He seemed drunk. He sat on the sofa and all the children ran to him, saying: "Santa Claus, Santa Claus" as if the party were in his honor!

At midnight all the people began to hug each other; I extended my arms waiting for someone to hug me and do you know no-one hugged me.

Suddenly they all began to share gifts. They opened them one by one with great expectation. When all had been opened, I looked to see if, maybe, there was one for me. What would you feel if on your birthday everybody shared gifts and you did not get one?

I then understood that I was unwanted at that party and quietly left.

Every year it gets worse. People only remember the gifts, the parties, to eat and drink, and nobody remembers me.

I would like this Christmas that you allow me to enter into your life.

I would like that you recognize the fact that almost two thousand years ago I came to this world to give my life for you, on the cross, to save you.

Today, I only want that you believe this with all your heart.

I want to share something with you. As many didn't invite me to their party, I will have my own celebration, a grandiose party that no one has ever imagined, a spectacular party. I'm still making the final arrangements..

Today I am sending out many invitations and there is an invitation for you. I want to know if you wish to attend and I will make a reservation for you and write your name with golden letters in my great guest book.

Only those on the guest list will be invited to the party.

Those who don't answer the invite, will be left outside. Be prepared because when all is ready you will be part of my great party.

Ack. Sorry I didn't make the trip, so I don't have any recollections of my own. Enjoy Daniel Tan's experience :D

"At least something memorable happened during this dreaded break: the long awaited/needed Port Dickson trip with close friends! As some of us had classes on Friday, the whole lot of use took off at around 9pm and arrived at Corus Beach Resort before 11pm. You would've guessed that we unpack and start resting our heads right? That's SOOO not the case. Once a prayer was said, armed with a frisbee that was made out of rubber that facinated many of us...

"Wah rubber one!" "Eh, not plastic one woh!"

...and a football, we the guys headed straight off for physicals games while the girls flipped-flopped gracefully to a litted spot for heart-to-heart chat, or whatever they call it. As for us, the fun started off with frisbee throwing but it quickly turned out to be a boring game, especially when

"Eh throw la! What'chu doing?"
"Okok.... Isaac, catch!"
* frisbee flies aimlessly to a manless spot.

That's when the football came to our rescue! (Note: Time: 12.45a.m.)
Team 1: JonLee, Luke, Jhim, Anthony, ChrisKok and I
Team 2: TienMing, Brian, ChrisChan, Isaac, Aaron, WeeLi
The match went on pretty smoothly, with ocassional disruption due to...

"Aikz! Faster faster!! The ball is rolling off into the sea already!"
"AIYA!!"
* someone gets down into the seawater and retrieve the ball.

At about 2am, with minor injuries and some with sand in their mouth, we lot went back to the hotel room to clean ourselves up. Supper-time followed as the two vans took off to an unfamiliar area at 2++am to look for food. Just for the record, PD is not like Sri Petaling nor KL. It was not easy to find food at this wee hour, but we managed to find a malay store with
1. twin chefs
2. male workers wearing 'uniforms' that look like clubbers outfit in KL
3. double the chef, double the dishes (their mistake)
4. the TV was showing a cultish movie about soul collectors...

Btw, fitting 3 guys on one bed with the normal vertical orientation.... is hell. I was crammed between IY and CK, couldn't sleep well till 5.30am. You have to understand that I am used to my Queensize bed, alone. I actually sat up in the middle of the night and asked what time it is before falling asleep again, according to Anthony. In the end, I shift to the other bed where LL and WL was lying horizontally. Managed to catch some rest till 9am.

CAUTION: Do not, I repeat, DO NOT pay for the buffet breakfast of Corus Beach Resort. Really, the food tasted horrible. Volleyball followed but for most of the time it was the 'chasing of ball' part that was interesting, partly because most of us are not really skilled with the game... nonetheless it was fun. After checking out and keeping our stuff in the vans, we headed to the hotel swimming pool.

You: ChoToMaTe! (Hold on!) That means you didn't go into the sea?

Of course! It was low tide during noon and looking at the 'welcoming' sunshine, we decided to forfeit that idea. Swimming pool wasn't a bad thing at all! We played some water games and some of the girls were enjoying the floating bed that Anthony brought along and painstakingly blown it up the night before. In short, we had a great time in the pool saboing one another and playing water fights.

By the time everyone got ready to go home, it was already 4pm, we dropped by KFC on our way home for our first taste of fastfood, which everyone missed. As expected, the journey back was silent as everyone was taking a nap in the van.

This outing was short, yet something that I had really enjoyed. At least some relaxation before the fight begins for my finals.... so from tomorrow onwards, everything will be back to studies again, and hopefully there will be enough time for me to prepare for my exams. "

Saturday - Went with SPCG1 to the Urban Food sharing thing in Pudu, and it was a good experience, if not scary. Seeing old people grab for chairs and food...wow. Never knew they still had so much fight in them. Anyways, it was really sad to see so many homeless and poor people, who came for the food because it was the only decent meal some of them had in days...sighs. It's scenes like this that make me wish for Utopia to come soon.
No, not the stupid game. Utopia, the concept of paradise on Earth. Which will be fulfilled by our Lord's return. Yippee!
Anyways, that was a good experience, and later went to Soong Kee to eat beef ball noodles...it's been a while since I last ate there. Almost more than a year too. Thanks, Zack man, for picking up the bill, to my dismay :P

Well, dat's about it. Zack-man's gonna put up some pics (I think) once he takes some stills from the footage he shot. Or not. I dunnoe, haveta ask the big man himself :P

American radio broadcaster Paul Harvey once told a modern parable about a religious skeptic who worked as a farmer. One raw winter night the man heard an irregular thumping sound against the kitchen storm door. He went to a window and watched as tiny, shivering sparrows, attracted to the evident warmth inside, beat in vain against the glass.
Touched, the farmer bundled up and trudged through fresh snow to open the barn door for the struggling birds. He turned on the lights and tossed some hay in a corner. But the sparrows, which had scattered in all directions when he emerged from the house, hid in the darkness, afraid.
The man tried various tactics to get them into the barn. He laid down a trail of cracker crumbs to direct them. He tried circling behind the birds to drive them toward the barn. Nothing worked. He, a huge, alien creature, had terrified them; the birds couldn't comprehend that he actually desired to help.
The farmer withdrew to his house and watched the doomed sparrows through a window. As he stared, a thought hit him like lightning from a clear blue sky: if only I could become a bird--one of them--just for a moment. Then I wouldn't frighten them so. I could show them the way to warmth and safety.

Yoo hoo! It's me, Jon the Lai, Snap the Cow, and whatever names I am unwillingly called. Since nobody is willing to up the date, so I will. All pics are from Tien Ming's blog (bwaha, cuz I don't have a cam of my own). So on the 19th of March, SPCG2 had their (our) 1st community service. But before that, we did a little something else...

.

1st pic - Ampang Yong Tau Foo at Foong Foong Restaurant. Only a handful of us went, inclooding Isaac. I dunno why, but Tien Ming ordered 100 pieces! We got stuffed, literally (well, some of you guys had only 4 or 5...boo! Force me to finish all...heh heh, actually I stuffed myself of my own accord...) So anyway, after learning that there is no such thing as Yeat Cha Ais, we proceeded on.

2nd & 3rd Pic - Ok, only pics of us playing the human knot, but we did so much more! We went round the house, praying for each room and rededicating it...don't ask why, because I do not know. Then, we played...pass the water balloons with towels. Weird, and it ended as a water balloon war...typical, eh? And then, went in, and we played the human knot. Mind boggling. Took my group some time to figure it out.

And then later we played a one-sided game of Captain Ball. Why one-sided? Hah, only me, Isabel and this other girl were participating...the rest were like, statues, and when they got the ball, they just held it. Sigh. And when the opposing team attacked...I was left alone to defend against Jon Lee and two others...(Tien Ming was Captain). What is this??!! Sighs...so sad. And Siah, man, you better learn how to catch balls properly (lol!). I'm sooo dead when/if he reads this.

Anyways, that was a good day, and a good experience (at least fat kids didn't jump on my back and flatten me to the ground). Can't wait for the next comm service and do some good in the world :D

wahaha, its was our 2nd cg outing for this year. as you all know, or perhaps, should know, we went to watch The Incredibles!! those who manage to make it for the movie was daniel (leader), isaac, jhim, chris kok, judah, sue ann, angel, rachael & cheryl lim, isaac's bro enoch, woon bing, jenny & of course myself. was at mc'ds with the rest when i recieve a call from cheryl, reminding me to pick her up, n tat was 10-15 minutes b4 the movie. drove to unc mikes hse n back. managed to make it 5 minutes after the movie started.. is tat too fast? hehe..

well the movie was great. worth it. all the waiting n advertisements about it, all worth it. after the movie, we went to get our dinner. not all ate though, too expensive. then we had invatations for the body adventure, where our formation X members, aaron, eric, n anthony are working at. we went in for free of course, if not we'll have to pay 30 bucks to enter. the set up was amazing. we were like small cells inside the human body. get to see wat our body is inside. after having a sorta fun time there, we all left mv, n went to nathans, to get our REAL dinner. isaac left with enoch back home.

so after dinner (supper), we all left for home. we had a fun time "today". well to all of u who missed it coz of exams, dun worry, we might have another cg outing b4 camp, to genting highlands, but our CG boss say might stay for one nite. so make sure u guess can make it k? it'll be fun. sorta like college camp, but our cg oni, in genting theme park. wahaha.. cya in cg guys. checking out, this is DJ CREEZO. gnite..

CG: 4 Nov - Movie Week

Yo wassup everyone! CG this week was a blast!
Actually we were supposed to have a movie week before this but due to circumstances the plan was aborted. This week, Izaak decided to go on with that plan, and chosed a well known but not the everyone-will-have-watched show: Bruce Almighty.

What happens after this was beyond word can describe. You can hear laughter and giggles by some of the cg members, especially Sue Ann... and Ben and Jhim just couldn't help it but must expose the plot RIGHT before it's on the screen. Argh!! (well personally I haven't watched that show yet...) :p Anyways, we enjoyed ourselves, munching away the delicious nuggets and meat balls thanks to Angel('s mum) haha... but yea, we had a great time fellowshipping.

After the show, about half of us left... while the rest stayed to watch "For Love or For Money 3". We were discussing and comparing between the girls who amongst them are really going for love while who should be eliminated coz she's just looking at the cheque. Izaak was saying that the bachelor in the show get to go out with so many girls... so the girls gave him a 'treat'. Then auntie(sueann) don't know for some reason got one by the guys as well!

Well, that's all for now. BTW to those who weren't here on Sunday,

There will be no CG this coming Thursday (11 Nov 2004) in conjuction with Deepavali. Next Sunday (14 Nov 2004) is Family Sunday, therefore no YC services. CG will resume on the following Thursday (18 Nov 2004)

CG Teaching: 07 Oct 2004

Yo yo yo.. wassup everyone? Here's another edition of CG update and mind u, what a great time we had!

So CG started at 8.30pm exactly as Isaac emphasized that CG should start on time. We were glad to have See Woon and Kah Woon with us again, together with Chee Ho, our new comer.
From the CG notes that we received, a few of us got the chance to 'sing' out the verses in Psalm 13 as it's supposed to be a Song right? Let me tell you, AUNTY can sing!! .. yah! like a ghost from the Christmas past!! Oh oh!! wait... Izaak joined in the fun too by presenting his own 'syair' version of Psalm 13... lol.

After a short explaination, each of us were given 10 minutes to write our own versions of Psalm 13. We were asked to read them out, and it was an emotional time for some as the poem reflects much of their sorrows and worries. There were tears and laughters. While Anthony presented his Cantonese version of Psalm 13, Eric was so kind enough to 'summarize' Psalm 13... lazy lah lazy lah!! lol... nah, but personally I think that the summary was really good coz it gave us an idea of Psalm 13 is about in a way that all of us could understand easily.

As all of us know, from this week onwards there will be no mamak session anymore due to the 'special policy'... so Pey Pey was gracious enough to bring some 'junk' food aka Twisties and Mr. Potato. There were Oreos as well, courtesy of abang Izaak of course.

Oh yah, for those who weren't there, next week Izaak will not be joining us as he has work till late night... It's time for 'auntie power' to show itself! Okok... next week we'll be watching a movie, which wasn't decided yet when I left... after about an hour's discussion. From what I hear before I left, it's gonna be White Chick... well we'll see haha...
Bring your own junk food if u want to, but pillows are a must peepz!! You don't want to hug a pillow with other people's saliva riiight :P ?

CG Teaching: 30th Sept 2004

CG started late as usual, and Izaak dailou couldn't help but hope that we will arrive on time, or at least not later than 8.15pm. Also, this followed by a bad news... we will not be going to mamak after CG already starting next week! T_T.... Well we reckon that someone requested that we don't have the mamak session after CG so that the name of College CG Ministry is protected. According to Izaak some unhappy incident happened to other CGs so to prevent similar things from happening to us, sacrifices must be made.

Don't worry be happy! There is a BUT to this. From next week onwards, there will be small refreshments prepared by grouops of three weekly. Well, of course it cannot replace the enjoyable mamak session but hey, at least we are still getting together to fellowship and to enjoy the CG! Cheer up guys :D. (even though I was sad after hearing that news... doesn't mean u guys should be right?)

Kk... after announcements dailou started the teaching for this week: King David (pt. 2). Everyone got a chance to read out their timetable and to share about it. Then we went through the notes and had a little 'discussion'. :) After that, we had our last after-CG-mamak-session. Thanks to the rain 16 of us were cramped into 4 tables.... haha.. but hey we enjoyed it and everyone was chatting away, with some ocassional "boo"s by some of the soccer fanatics.

The last day of CG Mamak session, the last day where petrol costs MYR1.35 per litre.

SPCG rocked Inti College!

Hey guys! Inti College CF Concert was a blast! Good job to Pey Pey and your team for putting the thing together! Here's the recap of the day:

"When |Me, Rachael and Cheryl| met |Isaac, Chris Chan, Auntie and Angel|"
Yep, we met each other by chance in front of Taylor's College and decided to have dinner before proceeding to Inti College. Auntie was proudly showing us her NEW HAIRSTYLE... and Chris was telling us how he had this 'Clubbing Look' with the straight hair.. LOL. Anyways, Sri Murni's was right at the corner so we went there while waiting for the others to arrive.

"And then there was Formation X"
While having our dinner, we could hear the FX gang even before we see them as they drove by. :D The whole lot met up and proceeded to the Inti CF Concert venue: The Basketball Court.

There she was, sitting at the reception counter and even though she was busy as a bee, Pey Pey took time to welcome us before going back to her businesses.

A lot of YC-ians were there, not only to attend but also to support the speaker for that night: Uncle Mike Raj. As time past, more and more people are coming in and we were amazed at how the people respond to the event. Good job with Publicity Pey Pey!!

The CF did not disappoint us with the performances they prepared: Hip Hop dancing, worship leading by the CF advisors, a band named Grace in fused, but the highlight of the night is Altered Frequency. The band was awesome as they led the praise and worship session, thru a mixture of familiar songs as well as the songs from their latest album "Exalt". The whole lot immediately fell into the presence of God as people jump and praise and worship Him, under the starry sky.

Uncle Mike told the story of the woman who was caught in the act of adultery.(John 8) At the end of the session, there were people who accepted Christ... Praise the Lord!

After the concert, SPCG and a few other YC-ians went for mamak (which I didn't get to join coz I had to finish an assignment T_T)... but but but... hehe something happened between Altered Frequency drummer Agnel and SPCG joker Anthony...

snatch thief eyeing on spcg

17th September 04, a member of spcg, Lydia Tong had an encouter she wouldn't forget for a long time.

"Hey, i've got a testimony to share. Today i was almost robbed by snatch thief.. I'm not hurt seriuosly, but just a few bruises n minor wounds.. Thank God for his protection.. n actually i held on to my bag so he didnt manage to take anything.. But my knee twisted a little cos i fell down when he pulled my bag n it hurts when i walk.. But most important no serious injuries.. Just thank God he didnt have a knife or anything la.."

Prior to the incident, Isaac and a few of spcg member who stayed around Sri Petaling went to visit Lydia at her home.
Date: 18 Sept 04
Time: 4.00p.m.

Jon Lee, Angel, Sue Ann, Teck Jhim were the caring members, while Daniel led the way from Isaac's place to Lydia's. It rained heavily but the determination wasn't being put off and both the drivers strived on to reach their destinations.

Everyone (except Daniel, who has been there for countless times) was fascinated by Lydia's home especially Teck Jhim, who took the courtesy to explore every inch of the house. We were glad to find Lydia in good condition and she wasn't traumatised. While chatting in the living room, the fuse switch tripped and for approximately 1 hour we enjoyed each other's company in semi-darkness. Isaac couldn't help but had a go on one of the exercise machines present and was enjoying himself (big grin on his face). Teck Jhim was busy looking for 1999 published magazines and ending up staring at them and say "Aiya, 1999 again ah." and replace the magazines. A quick intro to the siblings of Lydia too, fascinated everyone on the creativity of her parent.

Since this is the first visit to the venue, Teck Jhim couldn't help himself but ask for a tour to Lydia's room. Expected. Well, gracious Lydia gave us a nice tour into her world of song artists and beauty products. All of us ended up in the study 'house' playing drums and chit-chatting.

All of us were glad that Lydia was alright. We praise God for His protection and are thankful for His hands over Lydia.

I'm back into posting again peepz! Sorree for not being able to put up pics before this coz I was really really really hooked up with Uni assignments and tests. A big apology to Isaac and Sue Ann loh.. :D

By the way, to those who missed college camp, IT WAS MORE THAN AWESOME! Man, words can't describe how good the camp was, and personally it was something that I need after 2 months of non-stop intense pressure and work load. I am sure many amongst us are feeling that as well. I want to hereby give a standing oviation to all the camp committee members, especially Isaac for being a wonderful Camp Commandant. Everyone I talked to commended on the camp, not only because it was the first, but it sort of brings a fresh breath into our hectic lives once more.

Hehe.. okok enough of my thoughts lah.. now presenting..

whaddup people?!?!!? creez the man i back! n here is our cg update! ok today at CG, we were suppose to have some team building games. u guys was suppose to be the 1st people to know wat games we're having in College Camp. so, as isaac n jon lee prepared SO HARD for the games, the turn out today was super-ly awesome! oni 10 people came! how cool is tat, never b4 experience such a small CG! coz, AHEM, yea, every week our CG members show up until no place to sit, have to sit at the balcony, sit at the dining, outside the corridor all, so yea, super full.

but today was so quiet. din have the Formation X with us today, oni one, yea, the "why ar Jhim" fella. so we had to cancel our team building games today coz too little people thanks to those who DID NOT SHOW UP!!!! so we spend our time chatting. most of the time listening to isaac's stories. n his lame jokes. one shot 100 lame jokes come from him in a row. like for example, "how many alphabets are there from A-Z?" if u say 27, u fail ur maths. if u say 25, u also fail ur maths. if u say 26, the correct answer is 24! "so why 24 ar Jhim?" bcoz, E.T. flew away....

so yea tat was our time at cg. n yea we went to mamak after tat. went to a new mamak in front of sri petaling hotel. the place is named Kinrara, hhmm.. wat is it doing in sri petaling? y ar jhim? keekek.....

so guys, prayer time. 1. pray for those who are having exams n lots of assignments. 2. pray for COLLEGE CAMP and the COMMITTEE. 3. pray for Woon Bing so that his parents would allow him to go for camp bcoz he already sign up n so semangat to go. 4. if your free, pray for SPM students.

it was aaron's birthday last week, so at cg, we celebrated for him with cake... as usual ehh? it was pot bless cg week and man, were they loads of food all for us! when you mention pot bless in sri petaling cg, man it does not disappointed. everyone brought food! so much that we had to tapao and pass it out at the end of the cg. yeah, mee hoon, spagetti, fruits, punch, fried rice, nuggets, pizza, jelly, egg and sardin sandwiches, pies... man, we were rockin! but of course, sri petaling rocks! well, cg was a blast but wait... it wasnt over! there's more...

special invited guess stars... HER REVERIE was in the house to do an unplugged version for sri petaling CG! yeahhhh... it was a blast! the atmosphere was great! nice ambience and all. chill out sessions man... yeah... accoustic versions of "beautiful", "close your eyes" and "when it's over"... ahh, simply surreal, simply rocking... sri petaling never fails! =) sri petaling cg rocks! alrites, thanks so much to keng, mark and debs! and to every cg member out there, you guys are the bomb! keep it up! rock on... cheers

its CG again! hooray! raite. hhmm.. how to start leh? ok, when i came to isaacs hse today, there was onli jon lee n christopher(not me la dumdum). n the others havent arrived yet. i tot i was alwiz late. nehneh! so i went to isabels room to kacau her. keke.

so anyways, everyone started coming. n the place was getting full in a few minutes. then peypey brought some snacks for everyone to eat. but too bad guys, she bought cornetto for me!! ahahah.. blueh! so syok man i tell u. the more u eat, the more chocolate u get to taste, mmmm... wahahaha.

ok back to cg. pastor isaac preached the gospel today. it was part 2, oh if u din know, we continued from last weeks teaching, if ur a bit slow, last week was part one, n if u still duno wat im talking about, pls scroll down. yes, down. n if u still duno, pls seek help. ok back to cg, AGAIN. notes should be up soon, rite isaac? wut? oh he said yes. very soon wor he said. so if hes lying i duno wan ar. hhmm.,. teaching was good. oh yea forgot the main thing. during todays cg, isaac picked a couple of our cg fellas to read scriptures from the Bible. n everyone screwed up with the bible verse. each fella he picked read the wrong verse, or, they read the correct verse but isaac had the wrong notes. so it actually took a while for everyone to get the verse correct. pretty funny. not one or 2, almost everyone!

ok anyways, usual la, after cg go mamak. quite a number of us went. wasnt reli paying attention on wat was going on at the mamak. i was watching soccer on tv. so yea tats about it for todays cg. c ya'll next week. i think we're having games next week. rite isaac? wat? wat? oh he said yes. gnitezzzzzz

HOW OUR CHOICES CREATE OUR FUTURE [part1]

The freedom to make our own choices is a very important issue in our society. Every day, each of us chooses to do the things that we do, unless we are in a situation where we have been stripped of our freedom and then we must do as those who have control over us command us to do. This would be the case of those in prison or those who are enslaved by force in repressive societies. Even in these circumstances one still has freedom to make certain choices although they may be limited. For example, one can choose as to what kind of attitude and response one would have to his or her oppressors. Those in prisons can still experience freedom when they have Christ, because true freedom is an act of the soul and therefore we each can make choices in our soul [example: Pastor Glenn lim from sonic edge singapore]. Other men cannot force us to think wrongly unless we choose to agree with them.

There are other circumstances that can limit our choices because of the authority that exits in the world. One of these would be the choices of school children are limited to the authorities' decisions and rules. This is also true of the military. These are just two of many circumstances that can limit one's own personal choices.

However, no matter what our choices are today, they are ultimately creating our future because every choice that we make will either cause us to be blessed or cursed. Another way to put it, is that things will get better or worse for us. All choices have consequences. These consequences will be for our betterment or will work to destroy us. We are also responsible for our choices. The Bible challenges us with this admonition in Deuteronomy 30:19: "I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live"

Messages going forth in our society today have stressed our "right to choose" but have not balanced it with the message that our choices also have consequences (especially in the area of lust and selfishness.) For instance, most movies have glamorized many things that are bad for us and have not generally shown the destructive results of smoking, drinking, adultery, fornication, gambling, abortion, etc.

These things do not often hit home until ----

* A loved one gets lung cancer and is dying.
* A child is killed by a drunk driver
* Close friends divorce because of the unfaithfulness of a mate
* A teen is infected with a venereal disease she will have for life
* A family loses their home because of gambling debts
* A baby is aborted because of the lust and selfishness of it’s parents leaving them struggling with guilt

Our Daily Choices

We face choices on a personal level daily:

What shall we eat? ---- We can choose to eat healthy or just "pig out" on junk food.

Whom shall we marry? ---- This is a serious life-time commitment and should never be gone into without God's guidance. Making this choice foolishly or based on emotion alone has brought much heartache to many a person.

What occupation should we pursue? ---- Those making this decision strictly based on need or money issues will regret not seeking God about this issue. God has gifted every person with certain talents to adapt to the jobs that are suited just for them at the right times in their lives.

Should I return the money that was credited to my account by accident? ---- Remember the Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." When only God is watching, what kind of choices do we make? He is looking for people He can trust, as He desires to use us in His work.

Should I purchase this item on credit? ---- Do I really need this item or is it something I want, even though I cannot afford it?

These are just some samples of choices that we face. We also face temptations that we must resist with the Word of God. The consequences of some choices are more deadly than others. When we rebel against God and choose our own way, we are choosing a path of destruction that will ultimately end in hell. Because of God’s love and mercy to humanity, most of our choices do not have immediate results. We are all given a time to repent and find the Lord and His ways. We may all get away with sinning for awhile; however in time we will reap what we have sown.

2 Peter 3:9 says "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance."

Galatians 6:7 "Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting."

Wrong Choices Cause Soul Sickness

Many people are sick in their souls because they have not known the ways of the Lord, and therefore have made wrong decisions. God wants to heal us in every area of our souls and bodies, as well as give us a new life in the spirit. To receive healing of the soul, however, we must understand it and why it needs to be healed, restored, and renewed.

The Greek word psuche (pronounced "sue-kay") is the word Bible writers used when talking about things of the natural man, which in English is called "the soul." The soul of man is comprised of the mind, the will, and the emotions. Our emotional patterns tend to formulate our personalities.

The soul, or personality, is formed through a person's reactions to the information the mind takes in. The way each person chooses to react to the things he hears, the things that happen to him, and the things he chooses to receive as truth causes each soul to become what he, or she, is. However, when a person is born again, he becomes a new creature in Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 6:15), and the soul can be changed and renewed through the Holy Spirit.

As Christians we are to develop the attributes of Christ and become like Him. Because much of our personalities are formed through our choices, we have to make new choices to let go of the old nature and receive the new. Our new natures are formed by the truths from the Word of God. The healing of the soul, which is a cleansing process, takes place as we learn to study the Word and develop a close fellowship with the Lord through prayer.

i love you all to bits! sri petaling CG rocks! it's been half a year already, come to think of it... we've all slowly bonded and are now beginning to be transparent to on another. these are good signs people! being good friends, and people around you who are tranparent and making you feel like family... that's the whole point of CG! at the same time, we will all strive to look towards God and what he wants for us in our lives. so you guys better all remember this ok? and me as a CG leader, i'm just here to serve you guys. just a kuli lah. always remember, leaders are here to serve and not to be served! man, you guys have really been a blessing to me, really! honestly, man you guys are the greatest bunch! if i could, i would adopt the whole bunch of you. hahaha. thanks so much for the friendship and fellowship and also for the support to CG. plus all the committments, efforts and being able to listen to instructions. first of all, on behalf of the sri petaling cg n myself, i would like to wish a happy BELATED birthday to our dear CG leader ISAAC YAP, our asst. CG leader SUE ANN, n our.. eerr.. ISABEL YAP!! (clapclapclap)

ok i know many of u guys wana know wat happen on this wonderful evening. ok i'll tell u from the start to the end la. isaac is bz with his work these days, so he asked jon to plan sumthing for cg. so jon told him "win,lose,or draw is a good game!". so isaac agreed, when on the other hand, jon told me about the saboh plan. so we plan everything b4 today came. jon, me, n the rest of the guys gathered quite early outside the condo, with isaac unaware. i had to go n pick some people up, while jon n the guys went to get the food. after everything was done, we rushed up to jons hse to place the food there. after this, we prepared ourselves for the saboh plan. eggs, flour, and buckets of water was at the "crime scene".

let the games begin. we chose.. of all people.. the most unsuspected pey pey! she was to call isaac to tell him tat her mom wants to c him n talk to him more about this "cg thingy". so while we guys prepare behind the wall.. isaac came down n saw pey pey standing alone. "hhmm, wheres pey pey's mom?" thought isaac for tat moment. at tat very second, the one man army named chris chan came charging with the 1st bucket of water, following blows of eggs from the other guys, n continued by flour. hhmm.. not enuf? obviously! then i came with the 2nd bucket of water. SPLASH!! bear in mind tat isaac was juz standing still all the while coz he was.. shocked?

haha.. okok. then isaac had his bath. n when he was done.. surprise number 2 came. i switched off all the lights n opened the door while jon n the others came in with the bday cake for the 3 of them! haha.. they're were so touched n sue ann n isabel din know about this part. so they blew the candle n we prepared the food.

and we prayed for them before the makan fest went on. through the whole makan-ing time.. the cg was so quiet. so unlike us. isaac was still shocked.. n still couldnt belif he fell into this trap. keke.. he says his never gona take pey pey for granted adi.. keke.. sori pey pey!

ok.. after all the makan n chatting .. as usual.. makan is not enuf. time for mamak session. so all headed downstairs. this is where plan number 3 came up. we told isaac tat were gona throw sue ann n isabel into the swimming pool. so we all headed to the crime scene which was near the pool so tat it would be easier to get isabel n sue ann. then we was suppose to walk out but we pretended tat there was no way out from the crime scene area so we headed to the pool area. hahaha.. yea u guessed it la. SPLASH!! SPLASH!! SPLASH!! hhmm.. when we threw isaac in.. we needed extra man power.. so i think there were about 8 guys helping. but isaac pulled eric to "die" with him.. but ended up 2 fellas "dieded" with him.. keke.. eric n jon wong.. so 3 fellas went into the pool together. hahahah...

ok now time to think. when isaac kena flour-ed.. he took a bath. so he definitely had to change his clothes. after tat kena swimming pool. then change again. cool! haha.. sue annn isabel oso went and change n then we met at the mamak for a drink la. after tat.. HOME SWEET HOME!

WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY ABOUT FAITH?

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear." Hebrews 11:1-3

The above verse states very plainly that faith is a reality, something that gives "substance" to things before they become visible to the natural eye. 2 Corinthians 5:7 declares that we walk by faith, not by sight. When we are "born again" we are given spiritual eyes to see things and understand things that otherwise we could not discern without the Holy Spirit. When we are submitted to the Lord, He then begins to guide and lead us by His Spirit; we follow Him in faith knowing He will not disappoint us or lead us astray. We must learn to obey Him even when we do not see or understand how He is leading.

The Word of God states that "whatsoever is not of faith is sin" (Romans 14:23b). Some people refer to the expression "blind faith," but our faith is not a blind faith; it is faith in a very real person, Jesus Christ. We were blind before our eyes were opened to His love and forgiveness, but now we see Him and a new life and world belong to us.
Romans 12:3b says, "God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith." We are then to allow the Holy Spirit to move in our lives so that our faith might grow in Him. For faith to grow and for God to honor our faith there are several principles we must follow in the Word of God since faith alone cannot produce our prayer answers.

Romans 10:17 says, "So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God." We must know the Word of God for our faith to increase. Many times, we take only a portion of His Word and quote it and expect answers, when we must learn other portions that work along with the portion we are quoting. An example would be if we do pray a prayer of faith, yet do not obey God, our faith would be in vain.

Let's look at Hebrews 11:4 for an example of this: "By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of His gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh." Why was God pleased with Abel and not with Cain? Cain's heart was not right before God, thus his works were evil therefore his offering was rejected. "Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother. And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and his brother's righteous" (I John 3:12). Today, many people are doing the same thing, yet expecting God to honor their faith.

God wants you and me to be faith men and women, so that we can have good success in all that we do. Joshua 1:8 says, "This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success."

Hebrews 11:6 says, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." We can see by this verse that we cannot please God unless we walk by faith. The dictionary defines faith as (1) unquestioning belief, especially in God (2) complete trust or confidence (3) loyalty.

In looking at these definitions, we can take a test and see if we really are trusting God with our lives. Test question number one: Do we rebelliously question what God is doing in our lives? Do we ask God such questions as, "Lord, when are you going to do this thing in my life? How much longer am I going to have to wait for my answer? Why haven't you answered my prayers, God?" All of these questions, if posed rebelliously, are just the opposite of faith as they gender doubt and are questioning what God is doing in our lives. Also, we are referring to people in this test who have made a total commitment to God and are trying to walk in His will. If we have not surrendered to God, there are things that happen to us that are not His fault because we are in the devil's territory. The Lord does not mind us asking any question as long as we are asking it with a submissive attitude and not questioning His goodness.

Test question number two: Do we completely trust God and have our confidence in Him to the degree that when we don't see our answer right away, we wait patiently instead of taking the matter into our own hands and doing it our own way? Do we have confidence in the Lord that He has everything under control, or do we worry and fret and let anxiety rob us of our day? If we trusted Him, we would believe His Word and not doubt His promises.

Test question number three: What about loyalty? Are we loyal to Him? We act sometimes as if God were against us instead of for us. For instance, when we have prayed and asked God for an answer to our prayers but have not received that answer yet, do we begin listening to the devil as he whispers these words to us, "God hasn't answered your prayers; He doesn't really care for you. You know God has all power in heaven and earth so why doesn't He answer your prayers?" Instead of our being loyal and defending the Father, we end up many times agreeing with the devil by turning to God and saying, "Yes, God, why haven't You answered my prayers?" Our devotion to the Lord should be one of defending the heavenly Father with a statement to the enemy like this, "Satan, I don't know why God hasn't answered my prayers yet, but I do know one thing; He loves me and my answers are on the way. If anybody is hindering my answers, it's you, not my precious Father."

Real faith has all the above qualities of total confidence in God, and complete trust and unquestioning loyalty. Do we really have faith in God? In discussing faith we need to point out that it is not the quantity of faith that will accomplish the overcoming in our lives, but rather the quality. "...for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you" (Matthew 17:20). It is not the amount of faith we have but who our faith is centered in. Jesus is faith.

If we feel we do not have sufficient faith to remove our "mountain of difficulty," we can always ask the Lord for the "gift of faith." This gift is one of the provisions for those who are baptized with the Holy Spirit (I Corinthians 12:9). The Lord did not leave us without the tools to overcome our lack of faith. We can simply ask God to give us the gift of faith we need for whatever problem we might have. As we are faithful to exercise our "measure of faith" that has been given to each of us, our faith will grow. Then we can believe God for greater things even without the gift of faith. However, if we need the gift, we can ask and the Lord will supply if our hearts are right.

Faith is not only a gift, but also a fruit of the Holy Spirit plus a part of our Christian armour; so we see the importance of it in our Christian walk (Galatians 5:22). May we be spoken of as were the Christians at Thessalonica, "We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth; So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure" (II Thessalonians 1:3-4). Faith will carry us through every trial and tribulation. Faith is really not that difficult. God made it easy. In essence, faith is just taking one more step with Jesus; it's believing God for one more hour, and because we do not give up on God, He comes through with our answers when we trust Him.

Happy birthday to Anthony! Well it wasnt really his birthday today, passed already but we still celebrated it as a Cell Group la. We bought him a "stawbeli chocrate" cake (thats how Anthony said it). After cg, we off the lights, brought out the cake, sing happy birthday, then he blew the candles, cut the cake, then WE cut the cake and serve. Had a great time celebrating with him and not only enjoying the "stawbeli chocrate" cake, but we had junk food and all. After that we all headed for our usual mamak-ing session at nathans corner. Makan, minum, chitchat then balik rumah tidurrrr....

Well back to Cell Group update! Today Isaac teach.. ooops! "shared" with us about faith. We had a lot of Q&A. If you didnt know whats Q&A, it stands for "Questions and Answers". The notes will be posted by Isaac soon. So wait for it and write it down or print it or what ever la. And the photos for today will be also up soon. Daniel is working on it. So patients my dear friends.

Food Sharing

alritey people, i must say that you guys that went for the food sharing on saturday, yah... give yourselves a pat on the back. great job! keep it up yah! you guys made me proud! yeahhh! as usual, we rocked... but this time, we rocked all the aunties and uncles of pudu. helped the people from YWAM to set up the place and then started distributing out food and also chatting and mixing with the people around there. it's a great work out there! once again i say it, those who were there, you guys kick butt! and for those who werent there... not to worry, there'll be plenty more opportunities for you guys to do community work yeah! so hang on in there and get movin for the next community work activity for sri petaling cg. okies, beef noodles anyone?

Sri Petaling CG ROCKS!! haha.. today we officially launched our Cell Group blog site! this is our first CG summary since the blog is launched. be apart of this site!

as usual all of us will gather at Isaac's place at 8.. obviously some people will come late as usual.. but its ok.. i do tat too. after having some teaching over the past few weeks.. we decided to have some fun today! yes yes.. we played our CG's favourite game.. CHARADES!! well we had 26 people atttend our CG today which is totally AWESOME! we could start our own church! anyway, we split 13 a side and LET THE GAMES BEGIN! this is when you get to see all our CG actors show their inner "talent" to the world. we had a real good time laughing our lungs out with the most hillarious actions one can do. well this is what makes our CG so interesting!!

well, after having a great time playing charades together, we headed for the mamak stall as usual. we had to join 5 tables to fit all of us.. that also some went back right after CG. then we had our supper while fellowhshipping with one another. then the ice war begun. crushing the ice in the mouth and then shooting it with the straw.. what else can our CG do? yes i said CG.. so that includes the girls!haha.. well after our supper and ice war session, we headed home la. so tats about it for today. next week is nathans corner after CG! so make sure you guys can make it!

WHAT DOES GOD'S WORD SAY ABOUT... CHOOSING A MATE?

We know that it is the Lord's will for people to have a mate if they desire one. In the beginning when God created Adam, God Himself made this statement:

"... It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him a help meet for him" (Genesis 2:18 KJV).

"Now the Lord God said, It is not good (sufficient, satisfactory) that the man should be alone; I will make him a helper meet (suitable, adapted, completing) for him" (Genesis 2:18 Amplified).

The Lord wants to bring a mate to those who will ask Him and have the patience to wait for His choice.

There are some single people who are constantly out looking for a mate, and they are miserable because God has not sent them one yet. They have prayed and prayed, yet they still have no mate. Some settle for Satan's provision instead of asking God for the patience to wait for the one whom He would send. If they would look to Jesus and seek to please Him, rather than being concerned about a mate, soon they would find the right one crossing their path. Looking for a man or woman to just keep them from being lonely or just to fill their needs or to be a father or mother to their children should not be the only reasons for desiring a mate. They also need to be concerned about what kind of husband or wife they would be for a mate. These single people are still much in the flesh if they just want their own needs met. They should ask the Lord to fill them with His love and peace.

Being single is an important time to prepare us for marriage. It can also be a time to experience a closer communion with God. As we seek God to cleanse us of the world and help us become the kind of wife or husband that would bless someone, we will soon find that we are not lonely. First, the Lord would begin using us to bless others; then we will find we are content in Him. Eventually, in God's plan and timing, He will bless us with a wonderful mate so that both lives can be a witness for Him. We believe if a marriage cannot glorify the Lord, then it would be better to remain alone. There are worse things than being alone. One of these is to be out of God's will by compromising and marrying someone who does not feel the same way we do about the Lord.

Marriage is the second major choice we make in our lives, and we should never enter into it without much prayer. To rush into a marriage can be disastrous. The most important decision of our lives, of course, is our decision to follow the Lord. This decision is not a one-time declaration, but a daily determination to follow Jesus above all. If we allow the emotional or soulish realm to dominate our lives we become more susceptible to the enemy leading us astray through someone. This area of the flesh should be brought under the Lord's subjection so that Satan does not get the advantage and consequently destroy our lives and ministries. So many have failed the Lord because they chose a man or woman over the Lord.

We find this true throughout the Bible, too. Solomon's heathen wives led him into idolatry. Samson lost his eyes because of a woman, Delilah. David committed murder because of passion for Bathsheba.

Our emotions need to be cleansed as they are not the sign of love. The true definition of love is "God is love." If God is not in a relationship it is not true love. What this world calls love is really lust since it is built on what the other person does for me, not what I can do for him or her. If the other person fails to keep up his end of the bargain, a divorce occurs because the offended mate is no longer pleased. This is the attitude of the world's so-called "love." God's love loves without receiving back; God's love is forgiving and patient. God's love is gentle and kind. God's love waits. God's love sacrifices.

1 Corinthians 13 in the Bible gives us a beautiful definition of real love: (In this King James translation the word "charity" means "love.")

1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
7 Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
13 And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

Man's emotions are not a reliable gauge upon which to establish a marriage relationship. We must know in the Spirit that it is God's will. It is much better to marry for character than for emotion. Emotions fluctuate; character doesn't. Emotions are in the soulish realm, and unless the carnal mind has been renewed, Satan can give us emotions or feelings of love for someone of his choosing. (If he did not have this in his power, he could not split up marriages.) One of his favorite techniques is to suddenly take away the feelings one once had for his mate and give feelings for someone else. When he has successfully convinced a person that he no longer loves his or her mate, then he leads them to divorce, whispering, "You are living a lie." After he has destroyed that marriage, he then leads one to marry again by stirring their emotions for another. Often after their next marriage something happens that they do not expect. Before too long, friction begins to develop with the new mate, then arguing. Finally, they find the same thing has happened again; they feel no emotion for their new mate and the next divorce is in the making. "Falling" in love is Satan's way. The very expression of these words should tell us something. A Christian should not blindly "fall" into any trap. Love is bigger than simply falling for someone. Certainly, the Lord gives us a wonderful emotional feeling for the one we are to marry. However, this "feeling" without God's direction can be disastrous as Satan can tamper with our emotions and feelings too.

Marriage, in a Christian's life, should be based on a decision directed by the Holy Spirit. A Christian's love for another is a commitment. Of course, the Lord will supply the emotions for the mate He sends, but that should not be the criterion for making the decision to marry. The Lord should be sought, and whatever He speaks to us we should do. He knows the future and what is best for us. If we trust Him He will not fail us in this or any other important area. Women or men who allow emotions to rule them will never be victorious Christians. Emotions should always follow, never lead.

During Old and New Testament times, fathers and mothers chose the mates for their children. God's people were very careful to choose those who were "believers." We find this practice still prevalent in India and other Eastern cultures. The parents, being older and more prudent, made wiser decisions than the children in this area. The divorce rate in India is only about 7%, whereas in the USA, at the present, it is nearing 50%. Marriages that are loveless can be saved and restored simply by asking God to restore the love that was once there. Sexual relationships can also be healed by praying for a desire for one's mate. Prayer is a mighty weapon. God's love can mend and heal, providing people are willing to lay down their lives for their mates. His love will not fade, as does the love of the world.

Those who are single and have never been married are cautioned in God's Word to seek a mate who is a like believer. "Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? (2 Corinthians 6:14)." Many precious people suffer because they are living with unsaved mates. Some did not have Christ when they made their marriage decision, but they have since found the Lord. Those will have God's grace and love to win their mates for Jesus. The Lord always strives to bring the lost mate to Himself through the partner who knows Him. Mighty miracles of deliverance and salvation have occurred when people have endured suffering in order to bring their mates to the Lord. Those people who have the light, but choose to marry into darkness by yoking themselves to unsaved mates find that their flesh has led them away from God.

The Lord wants to bless marriage unions and see His plans fulfilled in both mates' lives. What a glorious plan He had from the beginning for both male and female. We can trust Him in this important decision. If we will totally commit to do His will we will never be disappointed in the one He sends into our lives.
